Whales of Greenland and Dogsled and Ice Academy are founded by two friends, Morgan Angaju and Jørgen Kristensen, whose partnership spans a 34-year age difference but is united by a shared passion and love for Greenland.

Together, they create unforgettable greenlandic experiences, combining local knowledge, adventure, and a deep respect for nature.

Dogsled and Ice Academy specializes in winter adventures, offering dogsledding, snowmobiling, cabin stays, and guided Arctic adventures. Whales of Greenland focuses on summer experiences, with a particular expertise in humpback whales, providing whale safaris, paddleboarding, fishing trips, and immersive overnight stays.

Jørgen Kristensen is Greenland’s most renowned dogsled musher, with 5 Greenlandic championships and 9 local championships. Born into the world of dogsledding, he has spent his entire life on the sled and is dedicated to sharing his knowledge, skills, and love for the dogs with visitors from around the world.

Morgan Angaju holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Marketing and a master’s in European Politics. He has also spent two months in the Kingdom of Tonga, learning about humpback whale behavior and techniques for swimming safely with them. Morgan Angaju brings his immense passion for Greenland to every adventure, combining local expertise with storytelling and a dedication to creating meaningful, authentic experiences.

Together, Morgan and Jørgen offer adventures that are more than tours — they are personal journeys into Greenland’s wilderness, culture, and wildlife, designed for anyone seeking a genuine Arctic experience.

Jørgen Qimussersuaq Kristensen

He is a proud co-founder and owner of Dogsled and Ice Academy ApS, where he shares his passion for dogsledding and the unique beauty of Greenland's landscape.

Growing up in Upernavik Kujalleq in northern Greenland, Jørgen developed a deep connection to nature, becoming a skilled hunter and fisherman from a young age.

He has many years of experience as a guide in Ilulissat, and as a young man, he traveled extensively across Greenland, gaining a broad understanding of the country’s diverse regions. He has also delivered lectures in most towns across Greenland, sharing his knowledge about the ice, the Arctic environment, and the traditions of dog sledding.

Jørgen is a qualified skipper, bringing a wealth of expertise to his outdoor adventures. With an impressive record as a five-time Greenlandic champion and nine-time Ilulissat champion in dogsledding, he is dedicated to preserving the traditions of this ancient sport while providing unforgettable experiences for visitors.

His knowledge, experience, and love for the Arctic environment make him an inspiring guide and host for anyone eager to explore the wilderness of Greenland.

Morgan Angaju Josefsen Røjkjær

Angaju is an honoured co-founder and partner in Dogsled and Ice Academy ApS, where he merges his academic background with a passion for promoting Greenlandic culture and adventure tourism. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communication and is currently pursuing a Master’s cand.scient in European Politics and Arctic Affairs at Aarhus University (DK).

He has been on an exchange in The Kingdom of Tonga with a local operator conducting snorkeling/swimming tours with humpback whales. During this time, Dogsled and Ice Academy acquired extensive knowledge about the proper approach to interacting with whales from a boat, on a paddleboard, and in the water.

With family roots in both Atammik and Maniitsoq, and several years of experience as a tour guide in Ilulissat, Angaju has a profound appreciation for Greenland’s diverse landscapes and cultural traditions.

His expertise in marketing and communication allows him to effectively share the unique experiences offered by Dogsled and Ice Academy, connecting visitors with the breathtaking natural beauty and rich heritage of Kalaallit Nunaat.

With a huge passion for dogsledding and a profound connection to the Arctic, Jørgen is no stranger to the winner's podium. He's clinched the title of Greenlandic Dogsleding Champion more than 5 times, showcasing his exceptional skills and dedication in every race.

But his achievements don't stop there. Jørgen has also conquered the challenging terrain of Ilulissat, winning the championship 9 times. His deep knowledge of these icy landscapes and the trust he's built with his dogs have made him a true legend in the world of dogsledding.
